Bagels

We often walk to 24th Street to have bagels together at the farmers market or on a bench nearby. There is much discussion about the kind and decoration of the bagels before we get there. Annika has developed a taste for "just bagel", whereas Aila alternates between wanted butter and wanting cream cheese (or something I hadn't thought of, both!) Priita has ended up where Tanya is: poppyseed bagel with butter. Tanya pulled out Priita's bagel and handed it to her. Then she pulled out her own, and Priita asked her what it was. Tanya told her they were the same. Priita: "Look, they're the same. We're twins!"

Minti

Alison (at Greatschools.net) mentioned Minti.com, a social site for parents. Not sure what I think of it yet, but checking it out at ndp.minti.com

Strong Daddy

Changing a tire on my bike (the stroller, actually). Pulling the tire over the rim, struggling a bit. Priita says, "You should ask a strong daddy to help?".

"A strong daddy?", I confirm.

Deflated, resolved to at least understand. "Who has a strong daddy?..." Well, Mia and Sam both have strong daddies.

At least I beat out one: "No, she has a _baby_ daddy!"
